As mentioned before in our communications with you through this site, the care for stray animals is not among the top priorities of governments and other state-run organizations. Thankfully, there is a number of private initiatives that step in. However, the gap is still too big as the space available for these ventures is extremely limited and it does cost a fair amount of money to support them. The Ciorescu Shelter is one such example, along with the Vlada Pro Tierschutz shelter that we have already discussed about.

25 cats and 20 dogs

This is the number of animals that are currently cared for by Olga Plamadeala. For this mini shelter there is no other funding than what we do as a non-profit organization. In a previous instance our volunteers provided medical care for 2 dogs suffering from skin disease and parvovirus and one cat infected by another virus. This time, we organized another fundraiser with the aim of supplying food, diapers and much needed medicinal compounds.
A total of 6,050 MDL (315.17 EUR) was spent for these products. One of our volunteers traveled to the shelter to deliver the supplies and take a look at the conditions. Olga does her best to keep them at the highest level possible. However, a task that had already been hard to achieve, has been rendered even worse through the increase of all prices.

These gentle souls need more help

From time to time, we organize fundraisers for a specific task. Arguably such actions can be considered as too little too late. This can be changed if you step up and keep donating to our cause and participate in our efforts to raise the awareness of everyone that may want to contribute into our efforts to provide the proper services that all stray animals need.
